Arlene R. Lundquist, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Lundquist is a generalist in Psychology with concentrations in Human Development and Family Studies. She has experience teaching more than 20 different undergraduate and graduate courses. She is a member of the Association for Psychological Science, International Association for Relationship Research, the Council of Teachers of Undergraduate Psychology, the Teaching of Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association, and the American Association of University Professors.
Dr. Lundquist's current research area is on the impact of the Corona virus on college student motivation. She and her student researchers are currently conducting a longitudinal study to investigate immediate and long-term effects of the pandemic on several motivation areas in the lives of college students. Dr. Lundquist’s earlier research focused on technology and communication, with dual focus on public vs. private intimacy and the influence of social media on social and political values and intimacy in friendships and romantic relationships. She still maintains a professional interest in both of those areas. She strongly encourages student engagement in her research program, as well as, has supervised numerous independent student research projects.
